has created yoni-shaped places and spaces,
and even species of flora and fauna resembling the yoni.
Consequently, such items and objects came to be regarded as sacred by a variety of peoples and were regarded as gifts from the Goddess, or as Her representations.
Here then some examples of this cross-cultural phenomenon; ranging from cowry shells to orchids, from cave entrances to rock formations such as the famous Grandmother Stone on the island of Ko Samui (Thailand).
